Trupeo works on top of the mailbox you already have. You do not migrate
anything, and you do not create a new address. You connect the existing one:
contact@, info@, hello@, whichever your team already answers from.
If you are still weighing up whether a shared inbox is the right answer for your team, start with our complete guide to shared inboxes. This page assumes the decision is made.
Before you start
You need two things:
- The address and password of the shared mailbox, or an administrator who can approve the connection.
- Five minutes. The first synchronization runs in the background afterwards.
Create your account
Go to app.trupeo.com/signup and sign up with your own professional address, not the shared one. Your personal account is how Trupeo knows who replied to what.
Connect the mailbox
Once signed in, Trupeo asks for the address of the mailbox to connect, and works out the provider from it. What happens next depends on that provider:
- Gmail or Google Workspace: see Connect a Gmail mailbox.
- Outlook or Microsoft 365: see Connect an Outlook mailbox.
- Any other provider: see Connect an IMAP mailbox.
What happens next
Trupeo starts importing your history. Recent messages appear within a minute or two; a large mailbox can take a few hours to import in full. You can use the inbox during the import.
Your first stop after that is the unassigned view, which is where shared mailboxes usually go wrong: see Understand the unassigned view.
